IEP Services
Individualized Education Program (IEP)
An IEP is a legal document that outlines a customized plan to provide special education services to a child in public school. It is designed to ensure that students with disabilities receive the support they need to thrive academically.

Purpose
IEPs ensure that students with disabilities have access to the general education curriculum, along with the necessary support to help them succeed.

Who’s Eligible?
A child is eligible for an IEP if they have a disability that adversely affects their school performance and falls under one of 13 disability categories as defined by federal law.

How Is an IEP Created?
-
An IEP is developed after a child undergoes an evaluation.
-
An IEP Team, including parents, teachers, and specialists, reviews the evaluation and other relevant information.
-
If the child is deemed eligible, the team collaborates to develop an individualized education plan.
-

What’s Included in an IEP?
The IEP details:
-
The child’s learning needs.
-
Accommodations to support their learning.
-
Specialized services and supports.
-

Annual Review
IEPs are reviewed annually to monitor the child's progress and make any necessary adjustments to their education plan.
